UPCOMING EVENTS

Online Strategic Networking event

The Belgian Korean Business Forum invites you to join the Belgian-Luxembourg Chambers of Commerce across the region for its Strategic Networking virtual event on August 30. During this online networking event, participants will have the opportunity to join a variety of sessions, depending on their areas of interest.

If you are interested in participating, please register by email at committee@bkbfseoul.com as soon as possible. Please note that you must be a member of BKBF to join. You can become a member at no charge here.

K-Classics Generations

“K-Classics Generation” is a film created by the Belgian Director, Thierry Loreau, describing the success of Korean musicians in the most important classical music competitions in the world, including the Queen Elisabeth Competition held each year in Brussels. The film will be released soon in multiple theaters in Seoul and the first screening will take place on August 31 at 7:30 PM at Megabox, COEX in Gangnam, in presence of the Director, Thierry Loreau, who is currently in Seoul to prepare his next movie that will focus on 5 characters who share a Belgian-Korean double identity.

WIM-HOSTE Concert in Seoul Jazz Club Groove!

Enjoy an exclusive musical evening with award-winning Belgian performer Wim Hoste in Seoul for a single night at Groove Jazz Club. Don’t miss this special evening on Thursday, September 1!

In 2022, Wim Hoste performed alongside Belgian pianist Daniel Verstappen at the Belgium Pavilion at Expo 2020 during the visit of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium. Interested? You can read more about it here.

After-work drink at Baby Guinness

Join us for an after-work drink on September 15, from 7 PM. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet with the Belgian community at Baby Guinness to welcome new members.

2022 SIWA Bazaar – International Community Fundraising and Food Festival

We are pleased to inform you that Seoul International Women’s Association (SIWA) is organizing the 2022 SIWA & International Community Fundraising and Food Festival from 12:00 – 17:00 on September 24th and 25th, at Hwajeong Museum (Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul). 

The Belgian Embassy in Korea has been participating in the SIWA bazaar for years to support this special fundraising by selling Belgian specialties such as waffles, chocolates, muffins, and other items. Thanks to the support of the Belgian community, our team has been successful!

They are currently looking for volunteers to join the Belgian team to make this event a success. You can directly contact Mrs. Ja-hyun Choi at jahyunbontemps@gmail.com for more information or to confirm your attendance.

Seoul Friendship Festival 2022

On October 22 and 23, the Belgian Korean Business Forum will be at the Seoul Friendship Festival 2022 with a unique selection of Belgian beers, genuine Liège waffles, and other Belgian snacks! Come and join us to celebrate friendship across borders and spread Belgian positivity.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us at the booth (making waffles, selling beers, etc.). If you are free on either October 22 or 23 and want to give us a hand, feel free to email us at committee@bkbfseoul.com.

CEFC x BKBF – French-speaking entrepreneurs in Korea

Are you a French-speaking entrepreneur? Then don’t miss this chance to meet, connect, and network with the other French-speaking entrepreneurs in South Korea!

CEFC (Cercle des Entrepreneurs Francophones en Corée) is a French non-profit organization that aims to build a friendly network of French-speaking entrepreneurs in South Korea by giving them the opportunity to freely interact, share ideas, experiences, and good practices, and co-create joint projects.

Introducing Kai Yeung,  a Belgian student seeking an internship in South Korea

Kai Yeung, an International Business student at Thomas More Mechelen, is currently looking for a 12-week internship in South Korea. He is looking for an internship in international marketing, international sales, or international business.

Kai is a multilingual (Dutch, English, and Cantonese) who is very interested in the Asian market, especially Korea. Thanks to his experience as an exchange student at SolBridge International School of Business (Daejeon, South Korea), he has gained skills and competencies that make him the right pick for any company wishing to add a temporary asset to their team.

Belgian Chief of Defense, Admiral Michel Hofman, in Korea!

The Belgian Chief of Defense, Admiral Michel Hofman, paid an official visit to the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff, General KIM Seung-kyum.

After sharing their analysis and assessment of the security in the region, they explored avenues of cooperation to address traditional and emerging threats, particularly in cybersecurity. They then attended commemoration ceremonies that took place at the national cemetery and Dongducheon monument to the Belgian veterans of the Korean war.

Belgian National Day 2022

BKBF recently had the pleasure of organizing an after-work drink-style event to celebrate Belgian National Day. We would like, once again, to thank all participants for celebrating with us on this very special day at Casa Corona! From the Embassy of Belgium in Korea to our members and friends, yesterday was definitely a great evening.
