Women in Business in Japan

Date: Wednesday, 22 June 2022
Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM (KST)
Venue: Online

The Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Japan is hosting a webinar concerning doing business in Japan as a woman. Nearly two decades ago, Japan set a goal of having women occupy 30% of management posts by 2020. However, the ratio remains virtually unchanged. In fact, it yearly climbs just 0.1 point to about 8% as of now. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, it appears the momentum for promoting women has lost even more steam.

BLCCJ invites you to an online panel discussion with 3 women in top positions in Japan who will share their views on working in a male-dominated environment, the challenges of climbing up the ladder, differences they experienced in other cultures, and lessons that can be learned.

If interested in joining, please send an email to info@blccj.or.jp and confirm your affiliation with BKBF.

Highlights of Past Events

Bouchée à la Reine/koninginnehapje Night

BKBF recently had the pleasure of organizing its first Belgian dinner of 2022! Our star chef, Patrick Asselborn, prepared a Belgian course meal that featured the famous “Bouchée à la Reine” / “Koninginnehapje” as the main dish, a vol-au-vent consisting of a puff pastry croustade with a salpicon filling (chicken and mushrooms), and a thick sauce served with French fries.

This was our first Belgian dinner of the year, but certainly not the last. We hope to see you all at our next gathering!

After Work Drink with the Flemish Delegation of Start2Export2 Korea

BKBF, Flanders Investment & Trade Seoul, and Voka recently organized an after-work drink to welcome the visiting Flemish companies of the Trade mission, Start2Export2 Korea. We had a wonderful time welcoming our fellow Belgians over Belgian beers and heavy hors-d’œuvres!

European Career Forum 2022

BKBF recently had the pleasure of co-organizing the first European Career Forum in South Korea. The career forum gave opportunities to both job seekers and European companies in South Korea to connect. Held virtually, the forum had 45 company participants, 127 offers to job seekers, and 38 live sessions connected to 620 candidates.

If you missed the European Career Forum this year, do not worry! Stay tuned for next year’s forum by clicking here!
