Traditional Brewery Visit & Alcohol Tasting In Bukchon Village

February 22, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join BKBF on a traditional Korean alcohol tasting session!

When thinking about soju, you probably only think about Green Bottled Soju? This is a good chance to learn more about the Korean brewing culture and see how the the traditional alcohol is made from rice, – Takju (Rice brewed unsettled residue from bottom part). – Yakju (Clear on top part from the jar). – Soju (Distilled alcohol from Yakju).

We will start off by walking through Bukchon Hanok Village which is a place in Seoul where many old traditional houses are located. It is also naturally connected to the Soju workshop which is a very hidden gem inside of the big city where people can enjoy the time-honoured brewed or distilled alcohol. At the brewery we will learn about all kinds of traditional Korean alcohol and taste 10 different alcohols.

Optional: after the tour you have the possibility to join us at the traditional bar called “Jumak” for drinks. The drinks are transformed from the rice and are creamy and clean brewed. Food & Beverages at the Jumak bar are optional and at your own expenses.

  • Included: Tour Guide (English/Korean), tasting session of 10 traditional alcohols (including Takju, Yakju & Soju), distillation demonstration.
